TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

TO INFINITY AND BEYOND! That's exactly where my Father's Day went this last Sunday when I had the incredible privilege to preach at www.rockpointchurch.org with both my son and my Dad! Generation Deal x 3 brought the message of "Eldad, Medad and MyDad" from Numbers Chapter 11 in Part 3 of our "insignificant" message series. Thank you Dad for the legacy of Jesus! By His Spirit, God has uniquely gifted believers to live a life of significance! Our gifts are to be used to equip and build up the church, sometimes in a unique way, and when we use our gifts, people see our uniqueness. You can go to http://rockpointchurch.org/index.php/resources-mainmenunew-245/weekly-messages-2010/338 for the message outline, the Sharpen The Point devotional and the full audio and video. My cup is still running over with God's blessing from such an emotional day, which was followed up with a delicious 16 oz rib eye at www.texasroadhouse.com (my Dad's favorite) and experiencing www.disney.go.com/ToyStory3 with my family, including my "adopted" grandsons Elias, Isaac and Ben. Love those boys! God is so AMAZINGLY good! I'm juz sayin...

Don’t Allow Your Past To Be Your Prison!!!
Posted: 17 Jun 2010 04:43 AM PDT from www.perrynoble.com
I see it all the time…I will be on stage teaching about God’s love, His unbelievable grace…how He forgives and through Christ has an amazing plan for our lives…
Then I see him/her…that person in the crowd that has that look on their face that says, “I really want to believe what you are saying…but I can’t because…” And then comes the list of how wicked they’ve been and how they are probably the only exception to the fact the Bible says God completely forgives.
Reality is…God has an amazing plan for your life right now. Unfortunately, too many people are too close to their past to fully understand their potential…how gifted by God they really are!
When we embrace who Christ is…what He’s done…and what He’s called us to do (confess His name and repent of sin) then the possibilities are unlimited as to what Christ can do in and through us.
He’s NOT through with you! He’s still got a plan and purpose for you…don’t allow your past to be the prison that prevents you from the amazing potential that is yours in Christ.
If you don’t let your past die then it won’t let you live! Whatever happened….God KNEW it was going to happen before He ever created you…He’s NOT surprised by it, still loves you and still wants great things for you.
So…confess, repent…and when the devil comes at you with your past then bawl up your fist and punch him in the freakin’ throat!
“I don’t have time to maintain these regrets!”
LIVE!

NO DUMPING

Back on February 11th of this year, my beautiful younger sister Becky shared this story with me that she had read: "One day I was riding with a friend. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My friend slammed on his breaks, skidded and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My buddy just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly. So I asked, "Why did you just do that? That guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" That is when my friend taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck." He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, So... "Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't." Life is ten percent of what you make it and ninety percent of how you take it!" In the greatest message of all time, Jesus said in Matthew 5:3-12, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." In this fallen world we live in, it is inevitable that we will be dumped on, but how can we turn the The Law of the Garbage Truck into the Law of the Blessings Truck? I'm juz sayin...
